Via Peregrina
Effective June 2026
All data created within Via Peregrina — your journal reflections, voice transcripts, reading notes, and settings — is stored locally in a database on your device only. It never leaves your phone.
We do not operate any servers that store user data. There is no account, no login, and no cloud sync. If you delete the app, all data is removed with it.
Via Peregrina makes two network requests, both on first launch only:
After first launch, the app functions entirely offline. No background network activity occurs during normal use.
Via Peregrina requests access to your microphone so you can record voice reflections. Audio is captured locally, transcribed on your device using the Whisper model, and then stored in the local database. Audio is never transmitted over the network.
You can deny microphone permission and still use the app — you will be offered a text input option wherever voice recording would otherwise appear.
Via Peregrina does not integrate any of the following:
The only third-party content in the app is public-domain text from Project Gutenberg, which is fetched once and stored locally.
Via Peregrina is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect any information from children. Because the app collects no personal data at all, there is nothing to collect from any user of any age.
If this policy changes in a future version of the app, the updated policy will be published at this URL with a revised effective date. We will not make changes that reduce your privacy without clear notice in the app's release notes.
If you have questions about this policy, please contact us at privacy@via-peregrina.com.
